Legal
The Legal team at Torridge District Council provide legal advice and assistance to Officers and Councillors within the Council. We cover many areas of Law that include (but are not limited to) Local Government Law, Planning, Contract, Licensing, Environmental, Property and Data Protection. The team also handle freedom of information requests, and maintain the local land charges register.
Elections
The Elections team is responsible for organising the delivery of elections, polls and referendums across Torridge, both at local and national levels as well as maintaining the Register of Electors (electoral roll).
Democratic Services
Democratic Services administer the Council’s governance arrangements; providing support and advice to councillors and officers corporately in respect of the Council’s governance arrangements and ensuring decisions are taken in accordance with relevant legislation and the council’s constitution.
